4th of July

Join the City of Escondido, American Legion J.B. Clark Post 145, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, and the Escondido History Center for an Independence Day celebration every July 4th in Grape Day Park. Old-fashioned contests, museum tours, and live entertainment lead up to the evening fireworks display.

Lectures
Our monthly lecture series debuted in July 2005. We feature a speaker on a topic pertinent to local history each month. These free lectures take place in the freight room of the Santa Fe Depot at 2pm on the third Wednesday of each month (dark in December). Authors and local experts discuss a wide variety of topics, and encourage questions at the end of their talk. The lecture and Q&A portion combined usually last 45-60 minutes. Come early or stay late to enjoy the rest of the museum. And check the events calendar for the most up-to-date list of specific topics.
